Rest in the River

McEwan_8Rest in the River was made for the exhibition, Reimagining the Murrumbidgee for Western Riverina Arts.

This work was inspired by three key visual images and ideas; that rivers are the arteries of the land carrying vital water for the survival of our whole country, that the Murrumbidgee River provides us with locally grown food to nourish our bodies and finally, that the river is ‘home’ for many people; a place to rest, to seek comfort and to be taken away to the spiritual.
